Modified another pair of wool felt boots

The woolly boot I made with wet felt technique learnt from Natalya Brashovetska.
The Austrian mountain sheep wool is really so easy to felt with.  I added UK Wensleydale curls for the textures.
Up to the hill where I live......

Lift up and relax over our city view........ Hong Kong is in the sub tropical zone.  We do have winter.   Normally Nov - Feb are cool days, cold below 8C at times.  But this year still not cool even hot.
Come on I need the cold days to cool down.........

Indeed I made the boots last year started with wool layering.  After some rubbing, rolling and fulling......
The hard work is to glue it and hand stitching.
Finished with the slip-in boots with flap.  After a year I thought it's no harm to do something and modify it to another style.  I cut it to have the lace style.

Then punch the eyes for the lace holes each boot with 10 holes.  This is the only part I can't do it myself so it's done in a shop.

Though I don't have the former style of slip-in.  I can make another one later.
The pair now is lace tied I love.

Eco prints & nuno felt reversible dress

Knit silk jersey is one of my favorate fabrics to work with.  Not only eco printing but also nuno felting is nice to do with. Following a series of the tube width nuno felt dresses made earlier, this simple and plain one is back to basic I used only a few casaurina and eucalyptus.  Then with little merino wool and mulberry silk as well silk gauze for the layers so as to make it two-styled reversible dress.
That day I asked my girl for the shots. We walked the dog to the beach dressed in two ways.  Here are the images of the same dress shown in both styles.

This side of the dress with top layers of silk gauze. Bottom cut off and co-web felted to make the ruffles.

Casaurina and eucalyptus are used for 1.5 hours bundle boiling.
A reversible nuno felted dress, one with layers.  Turn it over is the straight dress with bottom co-web felted.

The clear looks of both styles

The breezy layered look

Just a casual capture with cell phone. Very quickly we finished the shots.

We have a leisure walk and back to girl's home with another shot.......

This one also nuno felt silk jersey, dyed in cochinael with contact prints.  I have another one already printed and going to do nuno felt after I figure out the style. Stay tuned........

Nature inspired creation - ecoprinting fabric

My recent works mostly are with some flower prints. Whenever I go hiking I would like to gather some fallen flowers for experiment. This knit silk jersey was made into a reversible Nuno felt dress after natural printing. Last hiking in Sai Kung was inspiring with the stunning views. Back home and I created a few pieces of prints.  Pictures below speak themselves.........

The day was brilliant to start our hiking from the water front......

Views of Ma On Shan and Tai Po in the further distance after an hour hiking
Creek with running water after heavy rains
After up and down then the easy coastal walk with the mountain view - the "Saddle Hill"
Tranquil bay with fishing boats

Stop under the shade of papaya leaves to have a closer look of Saddle Hill.

The fallen camellia just good for my experiment.

Below are the images of "Before & After"  植物鋪陳經個多小時加熱後的比較

I love the prints on silk jersey as it's so soft. This is the dress made with nuno felt skill I love most, soft color and airy feel.
